Counselling

For Children and Young People

When counselling children, it's essential to adapt to their unique needs and communication styles. As a counsellor for children and young people, I focus on creating an environment where they can express themselves comfortably through activities like drawing or storytelling.

Unlike traditional counselling, I use age-appropriate language and techniques to help children understand and navigate their emotions effectively. By incorporating creativity and play into their sessions, I can connect  with children on their level and support them in a way that resonates with their developmental stage.

 How Can I Support You?

If you're feeling concerned about any of the following:

  • The impact of events on your well-being

  • Simply feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what to do

  • Struggling with your behaviour

  • Your parents separating or going through a divorce

  • Feeling upset about a friend or family member

  • Issues with your friends or family

  • Going to school or speaking with a teacher

As your counsellor, I will:

  • Remain non-judgmental

  • Keep everything you share confidential (with a few exceptions if you are at risk)

  • Listen to you as best as I can, no matter what you need to talk about

  • Never tell you what to do

  • Offer helpful information if you're interested

  • Always respect your thoughts, feelings, and ideas

No matter how big or small your concerns are, I’m here to talk and listen to you.
