What is Drawing and Talking?

Drawing and Talking is a therapeutic approach designed for children, young people, and adults. It is a short-term, time-limited, and proactive intervention, intended to complement—not replace—the work of specialist mental health services.

Over a 12-week cycle of 30-minute one-to-one sessions, this non-intrusive tool enables individuals to process emotional pain resulting from trauma. By using drawing, participants can express feelings in a way that goes beyond ordinary verbal language.

What sets Drawing and Talking apart from traditional therapies is its non-directed, creative approach. It allows individuals to explore and communicate their emotions in a safe and open way, without the constraints of structured techniques found in solution-focused or cognitive-based therapies.
